Accessibility statement
hamama wants everyone to be able to read this site and reach the pavilion. This statement covers the website and the place. The site is built to meet Israeli Standard 5568, which follows WCAG 2.0 level AA.
What we have done on this site
- Text and background meet AA contrast at every size we set.
- Every control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and focus is always visible.
- The site works in Hebrew right-to-left as fully as in English.
- Text resizes without breaking the layout, and nothing depends on colour alone.
- Motion is reduced automatically for anyone whose device asks for that.
- A "Skip to main content" link comes first on every page, and every page is marked up with headings and landmarks.
- Every page declares its language, and English names inside Hebrew text are marked as English so screen readers switch voice.
On 26 October 2026 we checked every page, in Hebrew and in English, at phone and desktop widths, with the automated axe tool, and booked a Gong Fu ceremony using the keyboard alone. A full screen-reader pass with VoiceOver is under way.
What is not yet accessible
- The map is a link to Google Maps, a site we don't control.
- When you pay, you are on our payment provider's page, which we don't control.
- We have tested the site with axe against WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 level AA, and with a keyboard alone. The VoiceOver pass is still going on, so a screen reader may still trip on something; please tell our accessibility coordinator (below) and we'll fix it.
The pavilion itself
We haven't described physical access here yet: before your visit, call our accessibility coordinator (below) to hear how you get into the courtyard and reach the deck.
